a picture inspired by the great Joseph Decker's() "The Myth" beautiful poem :[link]
Joseph is certainly one of those highly talented wonderful and intriguing people for whom dA is so much worth visiting
(I really wish I had more time and talent to make this picture look better and more appropriately illustrating Joseph's awesome poem, unfortunately I'm a bit ran out of time recently, so even though I planned to make it much prettier, in the end it didn't turn out how I wanted, so I'll most likely move it to scraps)
Oh wow, I love the colors and how she shines against the background in those white/blue colors. Love the reflection of the shoes/bodies in the floor. Awesome.
I know how we judge ourselves harshly, and set our standards sometimes beyond that which we are capable of. The scraps gallery is far from the right place for this piece.
The depth of the textures, and your use of light fills me with delight. There seems to be an exactness with every brush stroke, and nothing is out of place. There is something about your work which reminds me of the late Cecil Collins, who alas is not well represented even on the internet.
Thank you for sharing this little gem with us, and please return it to your main gallery. It deserves to be recognised for what it is.

This is cool. She seems really young, and completely focused on something besides what she is doing. The background is wonderful, surreally sized and such an old fashioned color palette to offset the white and blue of the subjects. (I include the text in that category.)
Having the words floating by and obscuring the girl is great. I can see where it might not have been satisfactory for you though. Perhaps the text could have been more integrated into the image; they could have more movement or dimension. I guess the pose could be more dynamic... Still the look on her face, her hair, and her whisps of arms and feet are so great. (The color choices are too, but then you always do well in that department.) It isn't as perfect as much of your work... it feels like the other things in your scraps... but your scraps contain some of the best stuff on dA IMHO, (look ma, Ken speaks l33t) so that is hardly a criticism.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
