Kay and Snow Queen flying in her big sledge,
my illustration of that fragment of "the Snow Queen" Andersen's fairytale :
"and he looked upwards in the large huge empty
space above him, and on she flew with him; flew high over the black clouds,
while the storm moaned and whistled as though it were singing some old tune.
On they flew over woods and lakes, over seas, and many lands; and beneath them
the chilling storm rushed fast, the wolves howled, the snow crackled; above
them flew large screaming crows, but higher up appeared the moon, quite large
and bright; and it was on it that Kay gazed during the long long winter's
night" (as usually I put English translation by 'Project Gutenberg')
by the way - I'd like to thank all of you who commented nicely my earlier illustrations of "The Snow Queen"

Ooh... ^__^ I love your illustrations. They made me go out and read the Snow Queen again... the detail with which you rendered the carriage on this one is FANTASTIC. So fanciful! *beams* The queen's cloak is beautiful as well, the tiny purple snowflakes are really pretty and draw the eye when you look at her.

Ale praca sama w sobie swietna. Te ozdobniki, wzorki, futro Krolowej, sanie! Bardzo mi sie podoba. Chetnie wezme sobie do favow. ;)
:iconbasia-almostthebrave:

ps. Moj program do obrobki tez... Witam w klubie. ;)

This painting reminds me so much of Kay Nielsen! sigh. . . my favourite artist of all time. I envy your style and imagination. Please keep painting i have been waiting a long time for another Nielsen. :)
:iconbasia-almostthebrave:
:omg: :) you compare me with Kay Nielsen ? :!: :blushes: I'm flattered and very happy of course :floating: thank you, thank you, thank you :) I'll keep painting of course :) but please do the same, 'cause in my opinion from two of us, you're definitely the one more talented! :blowkiss: (by the way , reading your "profile infromation I realized we have something in common not only in admiring golden age of illustration but also in literature - I also truly and totally admire Dostoyevsky's and Frank Herbert's and Tolkien's novels, :blowkiss:, my dear  :blowkiss:
