just a little personal gift-picture for my dearest friend Sebastian :iconcharonferryman:,he will know what it depicts, a little nighttime journey through the dreamy lands of dark gods
maybe I'll move it to scraps later on:nod:(but oh!:crying: the scan is so weak:doh:)

I was always wondering wha kind of colors you use...perhaps oils? Or acrylic?...I admit I am lost.

Is this a big format?

Don't you dare move my gift to scraps :shakefist: :D

I can't really say much (except that your plot to get me to go to sleep didn't work :evillaugh: I've always stayed up late when there were gifts for me :D ;)) except that I like every little thing about the image. From the two innocent/curious looking bears to the proud lion and the Annoying Cat who looks just like the Annoying Cat only less annoying, ha :D The maki seems like she's the prophet of doom on that journey always pointing out what could go wrong, already trying to tip my shoulder with her tail and whisper "Are you sure we want to cross that bridge ahead...it's been rainy season and it's all made of wood. You know what wood does when it gets too wet, don't you?" :D...and the two travellers seem completely in character...one too forward and curious and the other watching and enjoying...the mountain stairs in the back...and the dark gods lumbering across the sky, watching, threatening...but somehow also comforting...

A wonderful thing. :D  :boogie:  :boogie:  I'm already thinking where on my walls I will hang it...thank you, Basia :)

:smooch: you're sweet Sebastian  thanks very much for liking it:bow: it could've been much better, but , as you'll see in original - it's not too bad really
:whisper: and the maki tries to stroke the traveller's hair with her tail, only he's a bit out of reach
the bears were, next to a lion, probably the part that i was pleased most with, you'll see they really look cute in original:nod:

So beautiful! I was just looking at your page today and wondering when you'd post something again. I love your work! So much detail and color. The style reminds me of old-fashioned children's book illustrations.

Your work always has an amazing sense of uncanny intrigue to it; there's a stillness to this one in particular that gives me the same sensations I might feel when watching old cinema (like The Adventures of Prince Achmed).
