Artist's Comments

while forgetful historians mention only "the Desert Fathers" who were supposely living ascetically and in solitude somewhere in the deserts of Egypt around the third century, only few know that in the white creamy dunes of our desserts there still live tiny ascetic creatures called theDessert Fathers:iconseriousnod:

They're so... sweet :D
Lovely work, I like the colors!

The flames and smoke climbed out of every window
And disappeared with everything that you held dear
And you shed not a single tear for the things that you didn't need
'Cause you knew you were finally free ©

Hmm...a suspicious BigMilk and cherry dessert seems to be roaming ground for those fathers :sherlock: :hungry:
The sad expressions give them a particularly Tantalos-like feeling and I can't help imagining that I am one of them and have (for some inexplicable reason) given an oath not to eat desserts :( Fortunately that is rather impossible :evillaugh: *goes off to search for sweet stuff* ;)

I like the ominous Big Spoon hovering in the distance and the tearful dessert saint who holds on to his beard and the way the chocolate cream decoratively runs down their bodies :D

Ha, I love your "word-play" pictures. Reminds me a little of the St. Sebastian and the Porcupine one. Their faces are of true ascetic saint - or rather what I imagine an ascetic saint looking like. But that's another story. Still not sure which one I feel is more serene: the one on the right or the one in the center...a possibility for future contemplation ;) .

I’m standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What I have to do, I have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff—I mean if they’re running and they don’t look where they’re going I have to come out from somewhere and catch them.

oh, congrats on noticing the ominous spoon creeping in! (and yeah,i know, sooner the Earth will stop and cease to run around the Sun than you give an oath not to eat desserts;)):shh:

they say thank you for calling them sweet:bow:,although i secretely suppose they'd prefer to be called bitter, tragic and deeply ascetic;), i suppose it must suck when you're made of whipped cream yet you crave to become some great ascetic or martyr;)
:iconzedka:
you have an always impressive imagination :)

Oh my... :ohnoes: Poor dessert fathers, I can understand them...
